You may have seen the television series 24. One season has 24 episodes, each depicting one hour of a single day. There is a running clock on screen, meant to indicate that the events are taking place in real time. One must suspend disbelief at the seemingly herculean challenges the … Continue reading

Hope For Mothers and Daughters

By John Richardson June 9, 2014 June 9, 2014 Guest Contributors

I watched a mother and her daughter planting flowers together. The mother dug small holes in the ground. The little girl, close by, put the flowers in the holes. I was enjoying their interaction from my front porch as they planted together. I overheard their conversation. Mom said, “go put … Continue reading

By Douglas Parter I want to take you on my journey to honesty and give those of you who are more experienced in the faith a few pointers on how you could help people like me on our trek. A couple years back, I was a master of disguise and … Continue reading

Life Challenge Ministries COVID-19 Preparedness

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease that can result in serious illness or death. It is caused by a new strain of coronavirus not previously identified in humans and easily spread from person to person. There is currently no approved vaccine or antiviral treatment for this disease.

To protect our residents, staff, and our community from infection, and to fully comply with state and local guidance, ATC/LCM has adopted the following protocols on all our campuses:

1. We have permitted only essential staff and volunteers on our campuses. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, hand washing/sanitizing stations, and cleaning equipment is made available to those as needed.

2. Resident visitation is permitted with the following requirements in place:

  1. Visitors must sign-in, complete a COVID-19 screening and temperature check, wear a mask for the duration of the visit, and maintain social distance of 6 ft.
  2. Residents must wear a mask for the duration of the visit and maintain social distance of 6 ft.
  3. No food or beverages may be consumed during visitation.
  4. Visitation space is sanitized immediately following the conclusion of visitation time.

3. Common surfaces in our public spaces are wiped down with alcohol-based cleaners frequently.

4. Signs describing social distancing protocol, mask guidelines, hand washing instructions, and general hygiene etiquette are posted throughout our buildings.

5. Essential staff must be evaluated for COVID-19 symptoms at the front desk upon entry to the building and wear a mask when occupying a common space, and in offices if unable to maintain social distancing.

6. Unauthorized visitors and those who fail the evaluation will be refused entry onto our campuses.

7. In case of infection, we have designated special dormitories/rooms to house those residents who are under our care.

8. Whenever possible, outside meetings with non-essential persons are conducted using telecommunication tools.
