What is the most important thing you look for when hiring staff?
Currently, we have 29 full-time staff serving 97 students. While I appreciate creative, enthusiastic, hard-working, fun-loving, reliable, wise, caring team-mates, the most important quality for being a good staff member is personal holiness—men and women who have integrity and hold to high standards of moral conduct. There is nothing that has a more shaping influence on changing others for good than godly examples. People rise no further than their leadership. Robert M’Cheyne , a nineteenth-century Scottish preacher who died at the age of twenty-nine put it well, “A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God.”
