The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) was established in 1966. CARF is an independent and international non-profit organization that seeks to raise the standard of care for a variety of services, ours in particular being in the field of medical rehabilitation. They are the gold standard in accreditation for rehabilitation facilities around the world due to their rigorous and internationally recognized processes that ensure high-quality care and services.

CARF originally formed from two separate organizations, the Association of Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) and the National Association of Sheltered Workshops and Homebound Programs (NASWHP). These organizations had a mutual goal of assisting disadvantaged individuals by fostering other organizations in their best practices to serve their respective communities.

This is a laudable effort and has reached 31,000 locations and counting, across five different continents. We believe that this partnership will serve to benefit those whom we are called to help most.

Pastor Jeff Bonzelaar says it best in his most recent Newsletter post, “Our goal all along has been to help more people more comprehensively. We thank God for his favor and are trusting him to increase our fruitfulness as we seek to achieve our mission—“restoring communities by bringing faith-based recovery to the addicted.”
