I was hopeless and felt there was absolutely no purpose for me anymore on earth. My fiancĂ© and I separated, mostly due to my excessive drinking. My life with her and our son was all I had and I was on an extreme downward spiral, ending up homeless for a month. Eventually I went into treatment and achieved six months of sobriety before coming into ATC/LCM. I was raised in church so I’ve always known of Jesus, but never had a relationship with Him until I was 19 years old, through Fenton Freedom Center.
I’ve rededicated my life to Christ and great things have started to happen. I’ve been able to maintain a strong relationship with my son, and I was shown grace in a legal situation. I continually feel His presence and my relationship with Him is growing daily.
My favorite scripture is Romans 8:1-3: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.” This scripture paints a vivid picture of God’s unconditional love for his children and a powerful reminder that he sent his only Son to die a brutal death for sinners.
Thank you Kody for sharing your touching story. We all need Him and cannot do it without Him! Great scripture BTW. In those verses, I love the freedom we find in Christ and the fact there is no condemnation once we accept what Jesus did on the cross. I appreciate you allowing us, the outside community and believers just like you, see what God has done.
