TamiI was living as an alcoholic and really thought I would die a drunk. I tried a one-year residential program but as soon as I was out I began drinking again. After that failure, I felt there was no hope for me. My drinking escalated but I refused to try rehab again. I was determined to stop drinking on my own, and that led to disaster.

While driving drunk, I blacked out and totaled my car. Thankfully, no other car was involved. God spared me and my injuries weren’t too severe. But I didn’t want to kill someone because of my drinking and realized I desperately needed help. The pastor from a local ministry recommended Life Challenge and I decided to enter the program.

Since being in the program I’ve recommitted my life to Jesus Christ. I want to make Jesus the Lord of every part of my life, not just some of it. The only way to be free from alcoholism is through Jesus.

My favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 ‘“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”’

  1. God bless you, Jessica. The name of our Jesus reigns above all others. He has set you free, and you have grabbed hold of that truth. He truly is the only way!
